SUMMARY
Mr. Vernon Dursley and Mrs. Petunia Dursley live at Privet no. 4 with their son Dudley Dursley. On his way to work, Mr. Dursley sees strange things such as seeing people in cloaks and a cat reading a sign board. He also heard people in cloaks talking about Harry and made him curious if they are pertaining to Harry Potter. Albus Dumbledore arrived in their street late at night and turned off the street lights. Then, started talking to a cat which later transformed in to a woman. The cat was Professor McGonagall. The two started chatting and talking about the "Muggles" that they are noticing that something is going on. Dumbledore told Professor McGonagall that he's bringing Harry Potter to the Dursleys. Hagrid came with Sirius Black's flying motorcycle carrying Harry Potter with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. Then, they left Harry in front of the Dursley's house.
Ten years later, Harry is almost eleven. On Dudley's bithday, they've planned to go to the zoo. Mr and Mrs Dusley would normally ask Mrs. Figg to take care of Harry if they're planning to go out but Mrs. Figg broke her leg which means Harry has to go to the zoo with the Dursleys and Piers Polkiss, Dudley's bestfriend. Harry asked questions to the snake and the snake answered back and got out of his aquarium.
Harry and Dudley finished school and decided to go to high school. Letters were mailed to the Dursleys and Harry. Mr Dursley quickly grabbed the letter from Harry and did not allow Harry to read his letter. The next days, more letters arrived. The letters started coming through the chimney, so Mr. Dursley decided to leave the house and check in a hotel. The letters even arrived at the hotel and they ended up in a hut on an island. 5 minutes until Harry's birthday. Harry is counting down until midnight. At exactly midnight, BOOM. Someone banged the door.
That someone was Hagrid, a giant man. He introduced himself as a Keeper of the Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. He found out that Mr. and Mrs. Dursley did not tell Harry about what happened to his parents, his parent's world, Harry being a wizard and Harry being so famous. Hagrid handed Harry the letter/invitation to enter Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardy. Harry cannot believe that he is a wizard. Hagrid tells Harry about his past, his parents and the Dark Wizard Voldemort.
INSIGHT
First, I don't have any interest in reading nor watching Harry Potter. It bores me. That's why I read the book so slow. Haha. Alekx Toyhacao told me to read the first book of Harry Potter within just 1 week because it will help me to enhance my reading skills. So, I did read Harry Potter.
Second is, after reading the first 4 chapters, I realized that the book is not really boring at all. It is intriguing and fun to read. Harry Potter is really a lucky boy/wizard. I wish all the characters and the magics are all real except for You-Know-Who(Voldemort). I hope to finish all 7 thick books in 1 year.
Lastly, THANK YOU ALEKX for pushing me to read this book! and to Lora who is a Harry Potter addict.
