TITLE: The Perks of Being a Wallflower
AUTHOR: Stephen Chbosky
DATE READ: July 05, 2010
TIME: 4 Minutes
PAGE NOS./CHAPTER: 5 pages

SUMMARY
The book is all about Charlie's perspective of being a teenager. He is a freshman. He write letters to unknown people which is his readers. Most people think Charlie is weird and a freak because he is somewhat emotionally retarded and intellectually advanced. The only friend he had was Michael, he killed himself because maybe he felt alone. After all this, he made new friends, Patrick and Sam. They are all senior students. His new friends are mature and independent. Charlie talks about drugs, sex, masturbation and homosexuality because he belongs to a mature crowd. The story ended Charlie writing a letter about himself being in the hospital for the past two months and he was found on the couch by his parents completely naked.

INSIGHT
This book made me a little nervous because Charlie is only 15 and had so many weird experiences like homosexuality and have seen a live action when he was 8. He accidentally caught his sister having sex with his boyfriend which is very awkward and dreadful. Charlie also had a crush on his friend with a boy's name, Sam. But Sam only likes Charlie as a friend. The readers never really know what Charlie looked like, we just relate to his reactions and stories. The book ended up unexpectedly, his friends graduated from senior year and he will be a sophomore. I wonder what will happen to Charlie and to the other characters. Even if some scenes are awkward, this is still my favorite book.
